The Sadako Peace Choir in Seattle, WA.
at the Sadako Peace Park

The Sadako Peace Choir was made up of a multi-cultural group of children ages 5-13 years old from the Puget Sound area. The choir was organized in the spring of 1995 by Michiko I. Pumpian. The choir sang Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes. They have performed in the Seattle area as well as  Internationally in Hiroshima, Japan.

Award winning Children's Music Artist, Michiko, has created an international peace song entitled "Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes." This International Peace Song, sung entirely by children, was written and performed in both Japanese and English. The song is based on the true story of Sadako Sasaki of Hiroshima and her quest to fold one thousand paper cranes. The paper crane has become an international symbol of peace in recent years as a result of it's connection to the story of Sadako.
These children have chosen to participate in the choir to give a message of hope and peace to the world. The children are vital to make this world a truly positive place. They have an inner power to do something great if we as adults can help them to grow and provide them with the right tools.

Some of the events which Michiko and the Sadako Peace Choir have participated in include:
